We have three Japanese Maple trees in our yard and they are all this really nice shade of purple right now. I took advantage of a short break in the rain showers tonight to go out and snap a few shots.
With all of the rain we’ve been having lately, the miscellaneous vegetation that has laid dormant in our yard has really grown up. Good thing I got a weedeater for my birthday, so I can keep everything under control.

Here’s a setup I created for The Blood Connection to be used on their signage at Fluor Field, the home of the Greenville Drive. I shot the baseball, cleaned it up a bit in Photoshop and then arranged the seams to form a line that would loosely resemble the “wave” in The Blood Connection’s traditional logo.

Here are a couple of my favorite shots from last weekend’s engagement shoot with Ellice and Charlie at Hatcher Garden in Spartanburg. It was a nice day for a shoot and the garden provided some nice scenery – so nice that there were a ton of couples there having their pictures taken before their high school prom. Nevertheless, we were able to manage to keep everyone else out of the shots.
I’ll be shooting their wedding later this summer, and I am looking forward to working with them again.

Here are a couple of shots from last weekend’s hike to Raven Cliff Falls with the Lifepoint guys. It was a nice day for the hike, which ended up being about a 4 mile round trip. There were a few other trails that could have taken us closer to the falls than this overlook, but we hadn’t planned time for the additional trip.

Here’s a Yellow Ferrari convertible we came across while shooting downtown on Sunday. I had some fun with this one, enhancing it to make it look like it was moving fast even though it was parked.
I personally wouldn’t have left the top down, being such a nice car with a tan leather interior.

I got an email a few weeks ago from a gentleman in Georgia, wanting to use my shot of Amen Corner at Augusta National on his future son-in-law’s groom cake. I told him to go ahead, on the condition that he sent me a picture of the finished product.
The wedding was this past weekend and from what he told me, the cake was a big hit at the rehearsal dinner. I can honestly say that this is the first request I’ve received to use one of my images on a cake. Pretty cool if you ask me. Here’s the picture he sent me of the cake:

A couple of shots from around the house in the snow. We got about five to six inches, which is a lot for around here. The second shot was the day after the snow had fallen, so it isn’t a true representation of how much we really got. I had never seen lightning during a snow before (not like I’ve really seen a lot of snow either, but that’s beside the point), so that was cool to watch.
After all of this, it’s supposed to be in the 70’s this weekend. That’s just fine with me.

Great article on ESPN about Tanner Smith, Freshman Guard/Forward for the Clemson basketball team, and his off-the-court heroics to cheer up teens and pre-teens with cancer.

The Spring-like weather didn’t last long enough for me. After a week of highs in the low seventies, I went outside this morning to find my car frozen over. I’m guessing that was enough to kill off any of the blooms from the trees/flowers that had emerged (like the one in our backyard, pictured above).
